Welcome To The Real World

Description

Originally a National Geographic film gone terribly wrong, Welcome to the Real World was my first film....

All of us come to that point in life when the funding is cut off and you are forced to support yourself. “Welcome to the Real World” is about just that. Having been given a stern ultimatum by my parents, both documentarians themselves, that “come September, no money,” I realized I would have to do something, and fast… For food and rent, I managed to wangle my way as camera on a motorbike trip from Calcutta to London, a journey undertaken to raise money for an Indian orphanage. Following a rather shambolic, motley crew of charity workers (one Indian and one Brit), the film is a portrayal not only of the inevitably disastrous 10,000 mile adventure but the equally chaotic process of just how in the world you go about editing your first-ever film.
